Reports: Chiefs to change Nike for new kit sponsor?

It is time for Kaizer Chiefs to simply embrace change or make improved business. Amakhosi could be leaving Nike.

Remember when Kaizer Chiefs dropped Reebok for Nike? It was in 2001. Mduduzi Shabalala was not even born yet.

New reports say a potential new sponsor could be taking over.

REPORTS: KAIZER CHIEFS TO SIGN WITH CASTORE?

According to a report from Mzansi’s leading football outlet Soccer Laduma, Amakhosi and Nike are failing to agree on a new deal.

The report further says that the fast-growing and ambitious English sports brand, Castore, could be the new logo on the famous gold and black shirt.

“The football rumour mill has it that Nike, having recently signed a new deal with the Springboks, are coming to the end of the long – and to an extend – fruitful relationship with the Glamour Boys,” the publication said in their latest edition.

AMAKHOSI RELUCTANT TO MAKE THE CHANGE

The report further revealed that Chiefs, who have always shown shrewd business acumen, are not exactly keen on taking the mighty decision and risk.

“Siya sources have indicated that Chiefs are trying to hold on to their technical sponsor seeing that their merchandise is really what fanbase is familiar with and owned for more than 20 years,” the report added.
