Chiefs: Billiat admits heartbreak and pain over title loss

This is rather sad. Kaizer Chiefs forward Khama Billiat has suggested the pain of losing the 2019/20 title still haunts his heart.

Football grieve does really heal overnight. Kaizer Chiefs star Khama Billiat has suggested Amakhosi are yet to heal from the 2019/20 pain.

KHAMA BILLIAT ADMITS TO LINGERING PAIN

Reflecting on the trauma of that afternoon in Johannesburg, the 32-year-old Zimbabwean said chooses to avoid the memory.

“It’s a very painful thing and I didn’t wanna think about it because it also hit my heart,” Billiat told Vodacom’s Ringa Nathi, as quoted by Soccer Laduma.

“But look, it’s a professional game, you need to know things. It happens to the best and it happens to everyone. It is one of those things that was not meant to be.

“We need to understand that we don’t fight God for not giving us, he has got a better plan for us, and we trust His ways. But ja, especially after we were leading. There’s a feeling that whereby you already see yourself celebrating,” the former Ajax Cape Town winger added.

The ex-Caps United star concluded to say that Amakhosi need just one taste of silverware to fully recapture the golden days.

“We just need to break the ice and get one cup. It’s not easy playing without cups because it also motivates you to have a cup. How we [ and how the feeling is, it’s just another extra motivation,” Billiat concluded.
