Chiefs legend shares big advice for Amakhosi

Former Kaizer Chiefs central midfielder Willard Katsande has a key message for Amakhosi. The Soweto giants have been told to study FC Barcelona’s recent squad and team rebuild.

KAIZER CHIEFS SHOULD STUDY FC BARCELONA SUCCESS

Having parted with a string of legends like Lionel Messi, Xavi Hernandez, Andries Iniesta, Gerard Pique and Dani Alves, the Catalans had to start anew with a new generation of talent.

In came the likes of Pedri, Gavi, and Sergi Roberto from the club’s academy, while Xavi has taken charge of head coaching.

As things stand, Barca are on course to lift the La Liga title with five points ahead of champions Real Madrid.

“The club just needs to find the right balance with a strategy of rebuilding.

“As you can see, they are trying to build a competitive team with young stars,” Katsande said via ThisIsFootballAfrica.

“They have taken the right direction, having assembled a forceful team with young players whom I believe are learning to play in the big league.

“It’s even more difficult for them, especially when supporters want to see them winning every match, so I think they have to find the right way to win matches while still building the team.

“It’s like Barcelona, Barcelona is also trying to rebuild their team, but they are at least grinding out results while building the new team revolving around young players.

“So, that’s what I think Chiefs should do now, they must try to win matches while building, so they can stay competitive in the league as Barcelona are doing per my example,” Katsande concluded.
