Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Tlou ‘Spanner’ Molekwane has offered some advice to Amakhosi fullback Reeve Frosler.

Molekwane has urged the talented right-back to keep his feet on the ground and remain teachable as his career progresses.

Former Kaizer Chiefs defender tells Frosler to stay humble

Frosler has earned rich praise in his short career to date but Molekwane says that while his play has been impressive things could still go awry for the young man.

Molekwane backed the Kaizer Chiefs defender to break into the Bafana Bafana starting XI and become a national team regular if he continues to learn and grow as a player.

The former Kaizer Chiefs stalwart believes that Frosler is the complete package as a fullback and could even play an attacking role down the wing.

“Frosler is a very good player. I like him a lot and in saying this I am no trying to buy his face but I am being honest according to my observation. He is a mobile player who is equally good both in defending and going forward. He is still young and I see a bright future for him. He’s been doing very well for the team and he is going to represent our country definitely,” Molekwane told SoccerLaduma.

“He must keep working hard and be humble and learn to take advice from the senior players. You must remember that sometimes when youngsters are playing week-in and week-out they tend to become big-headed. Sometimes they don’t listen to people and don’t arrive on time in training and things like that. Those are the things that can result to a drop in a player’s performance,” added Molekwane.

Frosler made his senior international debut in a friendly against Angola in March 2018 but has yet to add to that single cap handed to him by former Bafana Bafana and Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter.

Bafana Bafana coach Molefi Ntseki called the Kaizer Chiefs right-back into his squad for the Cameroon 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sao Tome but that match was postponed.

Frosler has picked up where he left off, putting in great performances for Kaizer Chiefs since the restart of the domestic football season.
