Kaizer Chiefs famously released no less than 13 players in the current window, and with the ambition to build a younger and more talented squad.

KAIZER CHIEFS SIGN NINE NEW PLAYERS

Following the large exit of 13 players that included surprise names like Samir Nurkovic, Leonardo Castro, Kearyn Baccus, Dumisani Zuma, and Lebogang Manyama, nine new players have been introduced to the club.

Of the nine new faces, one of them, Kamohelo Mahlatsi was forced by injury to start training in late July, while Edmilson Dove and Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana only joined last week.

RATING AMAKHOSI’S NEW PLAYERS

Dillan Solomons, 7/10

The right-back has done what many players dreamt of and never lived to see – getting accepted by Amakhosi fans rather quickly.

Solomons has shown fight, passion, and high confidence in front of big crowds that easily freeze other players.

Zitha Kwinika 9/10

An Amakhosi youth development product, Kwinika has had a dream return. He has looked like one of the signings of the season so far and arguably the club’s Player of the Month for August.

Edmilson Dove, N/A

Too early to rate. Only joined last week.

Yusuf Maart, 7/10

The former Cape Umoya and Sekhukhune United’s star’s quality was amplified during his absence. Zwane’s side did not look commanding and fluid after Maart was given a red card against Richards Bay.

Siyethemba Sithebe, 5/10

The ex-AmaZulu midfielder has had to adapt to playing in the number 6 and double 8 roles. It is surely a different task from his previous number 10 role at Usuthu.

Lehlogonolo Matlou, 6/10:

The elegant lanky midfielder has looked good on the eye but needs to show a lot more aggression and dominance. He has seemed like a luxury player at this point.

Kamohelo Mahlatsi, N/A:

The SuperSport United development product arrived at the club injured. He missed over a month of pre-season.

Ashley Du Preez, 6/10:

Besides an injury that kept him out of three games, the former Stellebosch star, who reportedly cost R10-15 million, has blown hot and cold.

Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana, N/A:

The Burundian center forward only joined last week.
