Kaizer Chiefs welcome Maritzburg United to the FNB stadium for a mouth-watering DStv Premiership clash this evening.
Stuart Baxter’s side will be desperate to return back to winning ways after going down 1-0 in their previous outing against Royal AM over the weekend.
Ernst Middendorp himself will be desperate to get one over his former employers Kaizer Chiefs. Maritzburg United are on a nine game winless run.

“Kaizer Chiefs is disappointed and taken aback by the contrasting lack of urgency from the PSL after having taken almost three weeks to address the matter.” the club said after their request to postpone fixtures was denied.
“The reason might be that the League did not have a Chief Medical Officer who could have advised those dealing with the issue from an NICD and Department of Health protocols perspective.
“The Chief Medical Officer was appointed last week as a result of Kaizer Chiefs’ submission on the matter of the Covid outbreak. This is key in the times we live in.
“The Omicron strain of Covid has affected many countries and sport has been affected all over the world with much lower cases when compared with what we’ve experienced.
“Kaizer Chiefs are not an exception. Major world leagues, such as the English Premier League, have postponed fixtures during one of the busiest periods in their match calendar in an effort to curb the increase in positive cases.”
