Kaizer Chiefs | My worst year ever in 27 years – Gavin Hunt

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Gavin Hunt has admitted that the 2020-21 season has been the worst in his 27 years of coaching.

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Gavin Hunt has admitted that the 2020-21 season has been the worst in his 27 years of coaching.

Hunt has found himself wanting as Chiefs continue to struggle for results and consistency, so much so that a section of Amakhosi fans have planned a protest to Naturena TODAY, 14 May 2021.

Asked about the planned protest by Amakhosi fans who are expected to hand over their memorandum of demands to the management, Hunt said he wasn’t aware.

“I haven’t noticed anything. I’m not on social media anyway. So, I don’t know what is going on,” said Hunt.

“Personally, results-wise, this year has been the worst year ever in 27 years but if you understand football you see that there are a lot of things we need to do,” added Hunt.  

Under Hunt’s tutelage, Chiefs are likely to finish the season with their lowest tally of points in the club’s history.

As things stand, Chiefs have only collected 30 points from 27 league games, meaning they can only finish the campaign on 39 points provided they win their remaining three matches.

Amakhosi’s dream of finishing in the top eight is also in jeopardy as they currently sit 10th on the PSL log.

Their PSL status is also under microscope as they are five points above the relegation zone.
