Kaizer Chiefs new signing Lazarous Kambole used to watch his new club closely, and regards making the move to Naturena as a humbling experience.

Amakhosi returned to pre-season training on Thursday, and had two new faces in their ranks – both gearing up for their first taste of South African soccer.

The Zambian international, along with Ghanaian midfielder James Kotei are the players who have joined the club so far – from Zesco United and Simba SC respectively – as the club seeks to rebuild after a woeful season.

For Kambole, moving to a club such as Kaizer Chiefs aligns with his ambition, as they are about chasing trophies.

The striker says the move has inspired a great sense of pride among his compatriots, including his former club’s supporters.

“I used to follow Kaizer Chiefs a lot. I knew the type of football they play and I followed the history of the club online. It is a big club and full of ambitions,” he is quoted on the Chiefs website.

“They are not mere participants; they play to win nothing less than trophies. Chiefs is expected to win titles. My ambitions match theirs.

“Personally, I am here to improve my game, to score more goals and work with my fellow teammates to win matches. Back home people are happy for me. Even Zesco fans are raving and happy about my move. That is humbling. God’s time is the best! There were rumours a year ago, but I was patient to move at the right time. This is the right time.”
