This was Sundowns’ 15th league win of the season, and they look home and dry, and course for a record-extending sixth consecutive league title.

The win was Mokwena’s eighth in a row, as a result, he became the first coach in PSL’s history to win the first eight matches in charge of a club.
Mokwena had already become the first coach to record seven consecutive victories in as many matches in charge of a club last week.

Meanwhile, Sundowns made history as they have now won 12 consecutive league matches, setting a new PSL record since in 1996.

Previously, Sundowns had won 11 consecutive league matches, and this was in 2007 but they matched that record with last week’s victory over SuperSport United.
