In an interview with Thomas Mlambo on the The Ultimate Sports Show on Tuesday, Binkin revealed that Mokoena is on his way to Mamelodi Sundowns.

Binkin believes Mokoena would have joined Chiefs had the Soweto giants pushed harder in their pursuit of his client.

Sundowns, on the other hand, were able to convince SuperSport United to sell while they also matched Mokoena’s expectations with their offer.

Mokoena agreed personal terms with Sundowns, and the only thing left is to agree a transfer fee with SuperSport United as confirmed by Binkin.

KAIZER CHIEFS INTEREST IN TEBOHO MOKOENA CONFIRMED

“There was indeed interest from Kaizer Chiefs, in particular, but I think they didn’t engage further with SuperSport,” said Binkin.

“I think it’s got to do with an initial discussion, and that discussion wasn’t taken any further.

“So, I’m sure from the player’s perspective, he would have been able to agree personal terms on that side as well,” he admitted.

“But as I said, it’s too far to the equation, and Sundowns were able to manage the expectations on both sides of the equation.

“So, it made things a lot easier,” concluded Binkin.
