Kaizer Chiefs: I’m giving this league title to Amakhosi IF… – former striker

A former Kaizer Chiefs striker believes the DStv Premiership title race is far from over despite Mamelodi Sundowns sitting at the top of the log.

Speaking on Off The Pitch with TK, Bongani Ndulula said while he’s not sure where Chiefs are getting it wrong this season, they can still win the league.

Amakhosi are currently third on the standings and they’re 16 points behind leaders Sundowns who have played three games more.

Ndulula said Chiefs have all the resources, including the players and experience to dethrone Sundowns – but he’s mostly banking on the games in hand for them to win the league.

In his own words, Ndulula said the three games in hand that Chiefs still have to play coupled with the fact that they still have to face Sundowns give them a chance.

The former Chiefs marksman strongly believes the Soweto giants will collect maximum points against Sundowns which would throw the title race wide open.

“I don’t know what’s happening with Chiefs, I don’t want to lie. At least they have the experience, the have the players hence I say I don’t know what’s happening with them,” said Ndulula.

“Sometimes when it’s not your time then it’s not. Remember that Chiefs lost the league on the final day of the season.

“But now they have a chance. If they can win the games in hand… Sundowns will get tired. If Chiefs can win four games, then they can win the league.”

“If they win the four games I am talking about, they would be seven points behind Sundowns, and they will beat Sundowns,” he said.

“You will see, it’s not over (the title race). If Chiefs win those four games then you will see, they can take the league. Sundowns will stumble somewhere; they will be held to a draw somewhere.

“Remember there are teams down there fighting for relegation but this time, I am giving the league to Chiefs IF they win those four games,” added Ndulula.
