Mamelodi Sundowns star Sibusiso Vilakazi’s agent has commented on reports linking his player to a blockbuster move to Kaizer Chiefs.

The Amakhosi are already home to former Mamelodi Sundowns stars Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Keagan Dolly and Khama Billiat however according Vilakazi’s agent, a move to Naturena is not in the pipeline as things stand.

Sibusiso Vilakazi has struggled to cement his place in the Mamelodi Sundowns starting lineup since recovering from a lengthy injury.

Vilakazi ruptured his achilles tendon and subsequently missed majority of last season. He made just seven league appearances for the defending champions.

The former Bidvest Wits star’s struggles have continued this season after he fell down the pecking order at the Brazilians however according to his agent, a move to Kaizer Chiefs is NOT on the cards at the moment.

Vilakazi’s agent halts Kaizer Chiefs talk

“He has two options on his contract and, listen, one can never rule out anything. But I can tell you that we’ve not formally entered into any discussions or even informally with any football club,” his agent told SoccerLaduma regarding a possible move to Kaizer Chiefs.

“The first thing we always ascertain is whether Vilakazi is in the coaching staff’s plans. They answered my question when he played in the game against Royal AM starting his first game for a long time.

“We will monitor the situation over the next four to five months and then we will engage the club. If they exercise the option, well that’s then given us the answer.

“But we will engage them because what we don’t want to do is to have a player that is not playing. As things stand now, I see Vilakazi as still being an important member of Sundowns going forward, particularly on the African continent as well.”
