Arthur Zwane has opened up on his close relationship with Steve Komphela which dates all the way back to his Kaizer Chiefs playing days!

Kaizer Chiefs interim head coach Arthur Zwane has detailed his ‘close’ relationship with Mamelodi Sundowns’ senior coach Steve Komphela.
This came after the pair were caught sharing an intimate hug minutes ahead of kick-off between the rival DStv Premiership clubs.

Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns played out to a highly entertaining draw on Sunday evening at the FNB Stadium.
The Brazilians took the lead in the 49th minute courtesy of a stunning Aubrey Modiba volley however Phathutshedzo Nange leveled matters in the 76th minute with a volley of his own.

Keagan Dolly then had an ideal opportunity to seal the victory from the penalty spot however he was superbly denied by Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Reyaad Pieterse!

“I have a special relationship with coach Steve Komphela.” the Amakhosi interim head coach said as quoted by IDiskiTimes.
“Coach Steve, as you know, he was my coach. When I came to Kaizer Chiefs. He was the assistant coach to coach Muhsin Ertugral and before then actually I knew him as one of the leaders.
“As you know, he was one of my favourite Defenders. From that time he went into the national team.
“And when I was caught up in the national team with Carlos Queiroz, he was assistant to him at the time and we bonded very well. We became very close.
“It so happened that he joined the club (Kaizer Chiefs) and the chemistry was second to none, from that moment we shared a lot and we’re very close.
“The gap between the reserve team and first team was very close also.”
The Amakhosi next turn their attention to Sekhukhune United who they face on Saturday afternoon in the penultimate round of DStv Premiership fixtures.
Kaizer Chiefs sit in fourth position on the DStv Premiership log standings, five points behind second placed Cape Town City FC with two games to go.
