Kaizer Chiefs are set to unveil their latest high-profile signing as soon as the January transfer window opens as coach Stuart Baxter strengthens his squad.

Amakhosi will confirm the capture of AmaZulu midfielder Siyethemba Sithebe when the transfer window opens in less than a week.

According to multiple sources close to the club, Sithebe has agreed to a three-year deal with Kaizer Chiefs.

Sithebe, 28, is expected to report for his first training session with his new side at their Naturena base in the first week of January 2022.

His contract with Usuthu was due to expire at the end of the current campaign in June next year.

“It’s a three-year deal with an additional two-year option,” a source reportedly revealed to Kickoff

“He is also set to begin training with Kaizer Chiefs in January.”

Sithebe has played 132 matches for AmaZulu is all competitions to date and although injured for parts of this season, his exit will be a big blow to Benni McCarthy’s team.

The move ends speculation as to where Sithebe’s future lay as he was also linked recently to both Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns.

Kaizer Chiefs are 4th in the DStv Premiership log

Kaizer Chiefs find themselves in fourth place in the DStv Premiership log at the Christmas break, 16 points behind log leaders Masandawana.

Their next match is scheduled for 15 February, away to Cape Town City FC.
