Kaizer Chiefs latest: Stuart Baxter predicts bright future for Austin Dube

Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter has predicted a bright future for Austin Dube at the DStv Premiership club.

The 28-year-old centre-back joined the Soweto giants from GladAfrica Championship side Richards Bay ahead of the current season.

He made his first Amakhosi start in their 2-0 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns on Sunday.

Baxter acknowledged that it will take time for Austin Dube to reach his best form, but remained confident in the player’s abilities.

He said according to Kickoff: “I think he did well in patches. Austin is going to be a good player. At times he showed that he is going to be a decent player for us.

“It was a tough one for him. He will have to reflect on it and improve, same as everybody else. I think Austin is a good lad, a good professional and he will improve.”

Austin Dube will be hoping to be named in the starting line-up for Kaizer Chiefs’ next match on Saturday, 18 September against Royal AM.

Kick-off at the FNB Stadium is at 17:00.
