Kwinika was shown a yellow card in the 15th minute of Amakhosi’s 4-0 loss to Sundowns after Siyabonga Ngezana had given away a penalty for a foul on Peter Shalulile.

And referee Victor Gomes gave the yellow card to Kwinika instead of Ngezana who was the offender in that case.

Now, in an interview with iDiski Times, Ebrahim, a former referee himself, said Gomes didn’t mistaken Kwinika for Ngezana when dishing out the yellow card.

According to Ebrahim, Gomes booked Kwinika for dissent, adding that Ngezana’s foul didn’t warrant a booking.

“The referee made a decision and the head coach assumed that the referee made a mistake,” said Ebrahim.

“But no, the caution was correct. The challenge from Ngezana was not a reckless challenge, there no incident that warranted a yellow card.”

“The yellow card was purely for dissent,” he added.

WAIT… DID EBRAHIM SAY KWINIKA WAS BOOKED FOR DISSENT?

Ebrahim’s comment on the matter has created more confusion, and in fact, left the majority of fans questioning the integrity of Gomes.
