Outspoken former Kaizer Chiefs winger Junior Khanye has refused to give credit to Gavin Hunt for the win over Mamelodi Sundowns on Sunday.

Amakhosi came from a goal down to beat Sundowns 2-1 at Loftus Stadium, and Khanye believes this was through the individual brilliance and not Hunt’s tactics.

As always, Khanye was very critical of Hunt, this time, asking why he is not using players such as match-winner Dumisani Zuma and Kearyn Baccus regularly.

“I don’t care who says what but Kaizer Chiefs, I give credit to the players. Dumisani Zuma, the coach doesn’t believe in him,” Khanye told iDiskiTV.

“That’s why I am giving him credit. I won’t give credit to Gavin Hunt, I am sorry. It was the individual brilliance; the boy (Zuma) came on and applied himself.

“A different player with a lack of game time as Zuma would have been demoralized. He played a big game against Sundowns and he made a difference and scored,” he said.

“Another player… Baccus, came in last week and scored but he started on the bench. So, I can’t give credit to the coach and say, ‘it was a team effort’, no!

Khanye expects Chiefs to struggle under Hunt going forward, adding that his idea of not being a fan of Amakhosi ball-players such as Zuma and Baccus will definitely kill their confidence.

“I’m giving it to the players because I know going forward, Gavin Hunt is still going to struggle. The players applied themselves and what’s going to kill their confidence is Gavin not playing them,” he added.

“He’s going to make them impact players, and that’s true. He doesn’t believe in ball-players,” added Khanye.
