Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt has commented on media reports that he could be replaced by Stuart Baxter at Naturena next season.

Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt has commented on media reports that he could be replaced by Stuart Baxter at Naturena next season.

The news of Amakhosi considering Baxter as an option to take over from Hunt surfaced on Tuesday.

And following what was a disappointing result against Swallows FC where Chiefs played to a 1-1 draw at home, the plot has undoubtedly thickened for Hunt.

However, the 56-year-old mentor said he knows nothing about Baxter possibly taking his job, saying he is not on social media to be able to see what is being said about his future.

“I haven’t heard a thing… I haven’t heard a thing. I’m not on social media anyway,” Hunt told reporters.

“So, I don’t know what’s going on,” said Hunt.

Hunt has had it tough in his first season in charge of Chiefs, and he finds himself on the brink of not qualifying for next season’s MTN8 competition.

Furthermore, Amakhosi could find themselves in a relegation battle should they fail to pick up enough points in the remaining three games and teams below them win their matches.

As things stand, Chiefs are 10th on the log with 30 points from 27 matches, and they are just five points above the relegation zone.

Hunt, however, made history as he became the first coach to guide Chiefs to the group stages and quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League this season.
