Baxter was speaking in reference to the abuse Bernard Parker has been subjected to for years now following his brace against SuperSport United.

While Baxter admitted he can’t protect his players from social media abuse, his comment that he wouldn’t ‘criticise a brain surgeon on social media because I know nothing about it’ could leave a bitter taste in the mouths of Chiefs fans.

In 2014 and 2015, Baxter had strong words for Chiefs supporters who constantly booed Kingston Nkhatha, and that didn’t go down well with the majority of them.

“It was amateurish and the fans must kick out that habit as it doesn’t only affect one player but the whole team,” said Baxter in one of his press conferences at the time.
