Cavin Johnson tells Kodisang to stay in Europe

Former Orlando Pirates coach Cavin Johnson hopes that Kabelo Kodisang heeds the advice he imparted years ago.

“I always try to teach Kodisang that you have an opportunity to go overseas, take it, and he has been there for a while now at Braga. He has grown a bit, but naturally, he is an exceptional player, level-minded,” Johnson told Soccer Laduma.

“He played well for Braga B side in Portugal, and he even got a chance to play in the first team. I know the boy is pushing very hard, and I always encourage players to stay in Europe, try and stay there as long as you can; he is only 22, and he is likely to get seen by more people.

“My advice to Kodisang is to stay in Europe and prove himself, I think he’s got a lot to prove, he is still young, and South Africa will see him soon, but for now, I suggest he remains in Europe, ‘stay there my boy, don’t close the door and make a name for yourself’.

“If they [Braga] want to loan him out, let it be a team in Europe as there is more exposure, there is talent identification.”
