While it seems almost impossible for Chiefs or any other team to catch and dethrone Mamelodi Sundowns, vice-captain Keagan Dolly doesn’t think this is the case.

After 14 league matches played, Chiefs trail Sundowns by 10 points while second-placed SuperSport United is seven points behind.

However, Dolly is confident that the title race is far from over, saying the season is only approaching its halfway mark, adding that there is still a lot to play for.

Dolly went further to make reference to when Sundowns won the league in the final 20 minutes of the season despite Chiefs topping the table the entire year.

Nonetheless, while the title race is what they are keeping an eye on, Dolly wants Chiefs to focus on themselves and not what Sundowns are doing.

He said their sole focus is taking it one game at a time, starting with Sekhukhune United at FNB Stadium on Saturday.

DOLLY FEELS CHIEFS CAN DETHRONE SUNDOWNS

“We’re only reaching the halfway mark now. There’s still a lot to play for. I think in the past, Sundowns won the league in the last 20 minutes. So, anything can [still] happen,” Dolly told reporters.

“I think for us it’s important not to focus on what they [Sundowns] are doing. We have our own race to run. Our next focus is on Sekhukhune this weekend.”
