Kaizer Chiefs: Khune considering COACHING at Naturena

Kaizer Chiefs captain and Amakhosi legend Itumeleng Khune has discussed potentially coaching at Naturena. Will he be hanging up his boots?

Khune has just opened up on his Amakhosi future.

Furthermore, he is open to taking up a coaching role at Naturena.

KHUNE TO COACH AT CHIEFS?

Khune’s contract is coming to an end at the end of the season.

Therefore, it comes as no surprise that the rumour mill is rife with speculation in recent weeks pertaining to his future with Amakhosi. Sources have claimed that he will be extending his contract with Amakhosi fans worried about his future. After all, he is a legend and a fan-favourite.

However, Khune has now spoken up on his future. He is willing to accept his fate either way.

“So if the club feels like ‘no, Itu we’ve had enough or thank you for your services’, then if we have to part ways we will. That will be the club’s decision,”

“But if the club says ‘Itu, we would like to keep you but in a different position’, I will still gladly appreciate what the club has done for me,” Khune told Robert Marawa on Marawa Sports Worldwide.

WILL HE COACH AMAKHOSI?

This comes as no surprise given the humble man he is. What is interesting is that Amakhosi’s captain is willing to consider taking up a coaching role at the club.

“So if I have to go coach, I will sit down with my wife, discuss and see if I still have it in my legs. So there’s a lot that we are going to discuss,” he added.

So, we could see Khune take up a role amongst the technical staff as a goalkeeper coach. However, he is likely to be offered a contract extension, according to recent reports on The South African.
