It’s bittersweet news for Kaizer Chiefs fans after the club confirmed that star attacker Khama Billiat will be out for two months however the Amakhosi have been handed a major boost in the form of the return of star wing-back Reeve Frosler.

Billiat had to be ushered off after picking up an ankle injury against Maritzburg United over the weekend and scans have since confirmed that the Zimbabwean attacker has suffered a cracked bone that will see him sidelined for two months.

Striker Leonardo Castro has also been ruled out of this week’s midweek clash against AmaZulu due to an abdominal injury however the good news is that Reeve Frosler has recovered from his knee injury.

The 23-year-old Kaizer Chiefs defender has been sidelined by a knee injury since 08 November 2020 after being forced off in Kaizer Chiefs’ MTN8 semi-final loss against bitter rivals Orlando Pirates.

Gavin Hunt has opted to feature Siyabonga Ngezana as his makeshift right-back in the absence of Reeve Frosler however the center-back has struggled to whip in pinpoint crosses like his absent teammate.

Kaizer Chiefs boosted by the return of Reeve Frosler

Reeve Frosler was a standard feature in Ernst Middendorp’s squad last season at Naturena and many considered him as one of the standout performers for Kaizer Chiefs.

He was reunited with former mentor Gavin Hunt at the start of the 2020/2021 campaign however his injury came at the worst possible time for the Amakhosi. The good news for Kaizer Chiefs is that Frosler has officially began training and his return to the field of play is imminent.

Kaizer Chiefs next turn their attention to Benni McCarthy’s AmaZulu FC who they travel to on Wednesday night. The Amakhosi sit just one point above the relegation zone and three points will be an absolute must. They’ll be without star attackers Khama Billiat and Leonardo Castro.
