Golden Arrows believe they can score a confidence-boosting win over Kaizer Chiefs at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.

The break came at a bad time for Kaizer Chiefs and Golden Arrows are in prime position to take advantage.

Golden Arrows can beat Kaizer Chiefs

Golden Arrows skipper Thabani Zuke is bristling with confidence ahead of the clash.

Zuke insists that Arrows will run roughshod over Kaizer Chiefs and will got on to do the double over the Glamour Boys.

“Even on Saturday, we will do it again,” said Zuke.

“And we’ll beat them again in February when we play the second leg (on 18 February at Peter Mokaba Stadium).”

“If you beat Chiefs, you have that confidence and we need points now because we are almost entering the second round of the season and that is where things get harder,’’ added Zuke.

“If we can beat Chiefs, come January we have SuperSport United and other games…It will give us that confidence.”

Zuke also feels that the decision to move the match from the postage stamp Princess Magogo Stadium to the larger Moses Mabhida stadium, will work out in Abafana Bes’Thende’s favour.

“I think playing the game there also gives us an advantage because we are a team that plays football on the ground. Sometimes Princess Magogo Stadium gives us issues because it is too small,” said Zuke.

No silly goals

Arrows coach Vusimuzi Vilikazi also doesn’t want his side to leak any ‘silly goals’ in the Saturday afternoon contest.

“We’ve been suffering from conceding silly goals,” he said. “In all the games that we’ve played we’ve always been dominating but possession doesn’t win you games.

“You need to score, you need to make sure that you are strong defensively. You need to have a proper structure so that the opposition cannot have a leeway of attacking our team.”
