Maritzburg United snap up former Kaizer Chiefs striker!

Former Kaizer Chiefs and Stellenbosch FC striker Ryan Moon is closing in on a return to the PSL after a solitary campaign in Europe.

The 25-year-old striker has been training with Maritzburg United since returning back to the country following a successful spell with Varbergs BoIS.

Moon joined the Swedish side after spending two seasons at Stellenbosch following three campaigns at Naturena.

According to reports however, the goal poacher has been offered a two-year deal by struggling DStv Premiership side Maritzburg United which is coached by Ernst Middendorp.

Former Kaizer Chiefs striker to sign for Maritzburg United?

“Former Kaizer Chiefs and Stellenbosch FC striker Ryan Moon is seemingly close to a return to the DStv Premiership after being offered a two-year deal by Maritzburg United.” an iDiskiTimes report read.

iDiski Times understands he’s been training with the Team of Choice for over three weeks now. This publication understands, Maritzburg have offered Moon a two-year contract.

“The 25-year-old former Kaizer Chiefs striker left South Africa in March 2021, joining Swedish top-flight outfit Varbergs BolS after a stint with Stellenbosch FC.

“He went on to win the Golden Boot award with seven goals in 26 appearances in his first season. However, he opted not to exercise the two-year option and leave to explore other options.”

Maritzburg United currently find themselves three points above the relegation zone however they have a game in hand.

Ernst Middendorp will be desperate to save The Team of Choice from relegation and keep their top flight status alive. The Team of Choice do however have their fate in their own hands unlike Baroka and Swallows FC!
