KHUNE: Surprise replacement revealed?

KAIZER CHIEFS HAVE FIVE MAJOR TARGETS

According to The Citizen, 28-year-old goal-scorer Walter Bwalya is available on a free transfer. “Kaizer Chiefs is reportedly eyeing former Nkana Football Club striker, Walter Bwalya, who is currently a free agent,” the outlet said. The same outlet also has it on good authority that Chiefs won’t be extending the contract of 33-year-old Sifiso Hlanti. Stellenbosch left-back Fawaaz Basadien is a long-term target and somebody the Chiefs board sees as the ideal replacement. They’re also looking at Khanyisa Mayo, Walter Musona and Salim Magoola, according to reports emerging this week.

CAVIN JOHNSON IS ALREADY UNDER PRESSURE

Now-departed Molefi Ntseki lost four of the last five Chiefs matches he presided over, most recently their Carling Knockout defeat to AmaZulu. New interim boss Cavin Johnson has presided over four matches, all in the league, losing thrice and winning against Cape Town Spurs. At this early stage, his 25% win rate isn’t looking good.

Amakhosi face Swallows next

Chiefs make the short trip to Dobsonville on Sunday to square up with Moroka Swallows in the Soweto Derby. It’s a match they can ill-afford to lose. Kickoff is at 15:30.
