Without surprise, Kaizer Chiefs are under pressure to make a transfer deal before the window shuts. The name is Victor Letsoalo.

DO KAIZER CHIEFS NEED A NEW STRIKER?

As The South African reported over the past month, Amakhosi are linked with one of the best strikers in the land: Victor Letsoalo of Royal AM.

The Bafana Bafana is wanted in Naturena, thanks to his nine goals and two assists in 15 games. Good numbers for the PSL hey?

Meanwhile, Teko Modise was part of a chat about Kaizer Chiefs’ need for a striker or not. It is tough to tell if Amakhosi supporters will agree with Teko or not.

“I don’t think Chiefs are struggling with a striker per se, Modise said on Soccer Laduma radio.

“I think they do have strikers but just need ways to function around them. [Samir] Nurkovic has been the goto guy. [Leonardo] Castro has also been coming in and chipping in with goals when Khama [Billiat] was not scoring as much.”

AMAKHOSI DON’T NEED A NEW NUMBER NINE SAYS TEKO

The former Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns, and Bafana Bafana star concluded to declare there is no need for the Glamour Boys to sign a striker. In other words, Victor Letsaolo should not be signed.

“I don’t think Kaizer Chiefs actually need to go out there looking and stressing themselves about a striker. Nurkovic and Castro have had injury problems but I think this January window has helped them to regain fitness.

“I think when there’s registration time, I think everybody is looking for something. It is no different for anybody else.

The Soweto-born legend concluded with a very smart point about how Kaizer Chiefs and basically every club should always consider a player’s value after the coach that signed him has left the club.

“If you add players that a coach needs, make sure those players will still be productive when the coach is not there.”

Meanwhile, Amakhosi will be back on the matchday green grass next weekend in the Nedbank Cup against TS Galaxy.
