Kaizer Chiefs have struggled to hit the ground running this season.

At the halfway mark of the campaign, Arthur Zwane’s side have virtually nothing to show for the campaign.

Their new signings have all ‘struggled’ to adapt to life at Naturena according to the club’s head coach himself.

To make matters worse, arch rivals Orlando Pirates have already bagged a trophy (MTN8) and Mamelodi Sundowns are strolling towards the DStv Premiership title.

Zwane has been vocal on his new signings failing to adapt to conditions in the PSL fast. And although Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana has showed signs of quality, injuries have plagued his start to life in South Africa.

There is some good news though for Kaizer Chiefs! Two tried and tested PSL stars look set to be available for free come June!

According to reports, both Gabadinho Mhango and Augustine Kwem are linked with an exit from AmaZulu!

The former Orlando Pirates forward needs no introduction while Kwem has also been relatively lethal in front of goal.

Since making his debut in the PSL in 2019, the Nigerian striker has 19 goals and six assists.

Chiefs players struggling to settle in – Zwane

“I think when it comes to players, it’s been the case of adaptation. Players learn differently. Some will find it difficult to settle in quickly,” the Kaizer Chiefs coach told IOL.

“And that could be the result of being a Chiefs player. It’s up to the technical team to help them settle in quickly and know what’s needed from them.

“But time has changed and things have evolved. I don’t want to talk about the past. Players of today deal with pressure differently than before as well.”
