The 31-year-old Manyama, who spent four years at Naturena and claimed the 2016/17 Player of the Season award, joined Kaizer Chiefs from Konyaspor having previously played for the Citizens.

Comitis told Kickoff: “If a player like that becomes available I’d need to present it to the coach.

“We are willing to make a determination, obviously, we will need a deep squad next season.

“Experience is definitely something we will be looking for.

“Qualifying for the CAF Championship League has always been my dream, it’s just that now we will take it seriously.”

Lebogang Manyama has spent time in the Cape

Manyama is no stranger to Cape Town having played 100 matches in all competitions for Ajax Cape Town and 56 for Cape Town City FC.

A move back to the Mother City for Manyama may actually be a step up from his time at Kaizer Chiefs.

Cape Town City FC finished the 2021/22 DStv Premiership season like a train, rocketing up the standings to ultimately grab second place behind champions Mamelodi Sundowns.
