Kaizer Chiefs has declined a chance to sign Power Dynamos’ prolific striker. Who is on the brink of a significant move to the DStv Premiership. Which has left behind Chiefs and Orlando Pirates in a surprising twist.

Kaizer Chiefs have officially passed on the opportunity to sign Congolese sensation Andy Boyeli. Paving the way for his imminent move to Sekhukhune United in the upcoming DStv Premiership season.

After a standout season with Power Dynamos, where he netted an impressive 17 goals this campaign and 18 in the previous term. Boyeli caught the attention of several South African clubs. His scoring prowess and potential have made him a sought-after talent in the transfer market.

Boyeli’s rise and transfer buzz

Boyeli, aged 23, joined Power Dynamos from Chambishi Football Club in early 2023, committing to a contract that extends until June 2025. His rapid adaptation and consistent goal-scoring form quickly made him a key player for Dynamos. Which has attracted interest from bigger clubs in the region.

Despite rumours linking him with both Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, neither Soweto giant made a move for Boyeli. This was confirmed by Dynamos CEO Gibson Chaloba. The decision opened the door for other clubs to pursue the talented forward.

According to Dynamos CEO Gibson Chaloba, neither Kaizer Chiefs nor Pirates made any inquiries about Andy Boyeli’s services.

“We have never received any enquiries from Kaizer Chiefs regarding Andy Boyeli,” Chaloba clarified. “There were indications from his management team, but no formal approach was made by the clubs themselves.”

Interest from CT City and Sekhukhune United

The only South African clubs to express serious interest in Boyeli are Cape Town City and Sekhukhune United. However, as of now, no concrete offers had materialized. Leaving Boyeli’s future in the balance as negotiations continue.

“At this point, there’s nothing solid from the other clubs interested,” Chaloba added. “But we are open to discussing a transfer if a suitable offer is presented.”

Regarding Boyeli’s potential departure, Chaloba stated, “If there’s a serious offer, we would consider it. We’re aware of the rumours, but there’s been no real engagement from the clubs mentioned.”
