Kaizer Chiefs confirm Lazarous Kambole signing

Lazarous Kambole has been unveiled as a Kaizer Chiefs player after signing a three-year contract with the club.

Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs have signed Zambian international Lazarous Kambole from Zesco United ahead of the 2019/20 season.

The Glamour Boys have been on a rebuilding mission following a horrific campaign in the past season and had, up to this point, only announced departures from the club.

However, they announced their first big signing on Tuesday, with the 25-year-old signing a three-year contract, which will see him at Naturena until June 2022.

“Kaizer Chiefs have agreed on a deal to sign Lazalous Kambole from Zesco United FC on a three-year contract,” the club revealed in its website.

“Kambole is 25 years old and will join Amakhosi effectively on 1 July 2019 to 30 June 2022.

“The talented midfielder-cum-striker was recently in the Zambian national squad that lifted the Cosafa Cup that was hosted in Durban.

“Details of the unveiling of the player will be released in due course.”

Who is Larazous Kambole?

Kambole has been in the country with the Zambian national team, who were triumphant at the Cosafa Cup held in Durban, beating Botswana 1-0 in the final on Saturday.

The striker saw to his new club’s demise in the Caf Confederations Cup, where he found the net home and away to send Chiefs packing.

He moves to the PSL, having been at Zesco United since January 2015, where he has bagged seven goals in 15 matches in continental competition.

Kambole joins Chiefs amid reported interest from other top South African sides, including Soweto giants Orlando Pirates and AmaZulu.
