Kaizer Chiefs latest: Alexander revels in scoring first Amakhosi goal

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Cole Alexander has expressed delight at being back in the team following a 12-week injury lay-off.

Alexander came on as a second half substitute in the 3-1 win over Chippa United, and the veteran midfielder scored Amakhosi’s third goal of the night.

This marked Alexander’s first goal since joining Chiefs as a free agent at the start of the season – and the former Bidvest Wits is excited.

ALEXANDER REACTS TO FIRST GOAL FOR KAIZER CHIEFS

“It has been 12 weeks since I last played, I was very happy to get some game time, and to get back on the pitch,” Alexander told the Chiefs website.

“I was very happy to score my first goal in the Chiefs colours, very very happy for that,” he said.

Meanwhile, Alexander is already looking forward to Tuesday’s encounter against TS Galaxy who recently eliminated Chiefs in the Nedbank Cup.

Kick-off at the FNB Stadium is at 19:30.

And while revenge is certainly playing in the minds of the Chiefs players, Alexander said the approach shouldn’t be different against TS Galaxy.

“We are going to take it as we take any other game and work hard in training. Also, they eliminated us from the Nedbank Cup. So, this is a way to get back at them.”
