Kaizer Chiefs reserve coach Vela Khumalo believes 18-year-old striker Wandile Duba is the real deal.

Duba has been in sensational form for the Amakhosi reserve side during recent months.

And his coach has since paid tribute to him after helping his side qualify for the finals of the Diski Shield after defeating Mamelodi Sundowns 2-0.

Much has been said about Kaizer Chiefs starlets Mduduzi Shabalala and Mfundo Vilakazi but Khumalo believes Duba is the unsung hero at Naturena.

Khumalo lavishly praises Kaizer Chiefs starlet!

“Mark my words, you can write this down. Duba is going to be a top striker in the country.” the Kaizer Chiefs reserve coach told Citizen.

“Yes, we have Mduduzi Shabalala who is a very special player as well as Mfundo Vilakazi. But with Bula (Duba), we have been lacking strikers in South Africa for a very long time now.

“I am telling you, Bula is a deadly striker, I have never seen a deadly striker like him.

“You know, I found Bula playing at one of the teams in the Gauteng Development League down there missing chances and all of that.

“But I saw something special in him and thought to myself if I work on him he is going to be something special.

“I asked him to come to training and Kaizer Chiefs signed him on the second day after scoring four goals in a friendly that we played.

“He is a special talent and he is going to be something big and I don’t see him playing in South Africa for long. He is a player that will play overseas.”

In other news, Kaizer Chiefs new signing Zitha Kwinika believes nothing can stop the Amakhosi this season.

The Amakhosi academy graduate rejoined the club from Stellenbosch ahead of the new season.

Kwinika believes the revamped Amakhosi side are ready to return the glory days back to Naturena.

“It’s going to be a great season. It’s not only about me, but about the group at large.” Kwinika told the Kaizer Chiefs media team.

“Everyone in the team knows the pressure there is to come to rectify what has happened at the Club.

“It’s high time now for the Chiefs faithful to have a smile on their face. It won’t be an easy journey, it’s important that everyone comes together as a group.

“If we do it as a team, there’s so much potential, so much quality in this Kaizer Chiefs group that I don’t see anything or anyone that can stop us.

“It’s a case of getting together and making the Khosi faithful happy again,”
