Kaizer Chiefs striker Christian Saile talks jersey No.21

Kaizer Chiefs new signing Christian Saile has spoken of his debut against Royal AM which he came from the bench to provided an assist.

Saile expressed delight after being warmly welcomed by thousands of Amakhosi fans on his debut while also speaking about the excitement of receiving his work permit early.

He also spoke fondly of the No.21 jersey he said was handed to him by coach Arthur Zwane soon after he put pen to paper.

“I was very happy when I found out my documents were ready because I wanted to play for Kaizer Chiefs as soon as possible. I was very pleased to be involved in the match day squad,” Saile told the Chiefs website.

“I got a good reception from the Chiefs fans. As a new player it made me feel good to hear them welcome me,” he says appreciatively, adding “I like jersey number 21, it’s a good number. When the coach offered it to me, I said, ‘That’s good for me’.”

“You finish one game and then focus on giving 100% against Galaxy in the next one,” he says with a determined look in his eye, recognising that there is still a lot to play for this season, and encourages his new fans to come to the stadium to inspire them

“They must keep supporting and pushing us on. We’ll do the best we can to make them happy,” he promises.
