Kaizer Chiefs and Chippa United face stiff competition in the race to sign Etiosa Ighodaro from Mamelodi Sundowns.

Ighodaro spent the season out on loan from the Brazilians at Chippa United, scoring an impressive 10 goals for the Chilli Boys.

Chippa United are hopeful of signing the Nigerian striker for next season from Mamelodi Sundowns, but they face stiff competition!

According to reports, Kaizer Chiefs have entered the race to sign the Nigerian.

French side Reims, Belgian side KVC Westerlo and Egyptian giants Zamalek are all also reportedly interested in Ighodaro.

Kaizer Chiefs and Chippa United aim to sign Sundowns man

“He is a wanted man. He is on demand. There are several teams, both in South Africa and outside, including Egypt and Europe, who have been enquiring about him.” an insider told SoccerLaduma.

“Chippa want to keep him. That’s why they are talking to Sundowns. The problem is Sundowns are so quiet on whether they want him back for next season or not.

“For now Chippa are engaging with Sundowns with the aim of keeping him for next season. But, it will all depend on whether Sundowns want to use him or not.”

In other news, former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Dumisani Zuma is a free agent again!

Zuma was released by the Amakhosi last year, and joined AmaZulu as a free agent.

According to the latest reports, Usuthu have opted against extending his contract at the club!

This means that the former Bloemfontein Celtic star is once again a free agent, and can join any club with immediate effect!

Zuma made 21 appearances for AmaZulu, scoring just one goal in his time at the club.

Former Amakhosi man becomes a free agent again

“SABC Sport can reveal AmaZulu FC will not trigger the option on Dumisani Zuma’s contract, effectively making the striker a free agent.” a SABC SPORT report read.
