Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Daniel Cardoso had the last laugh in his recent spat with the Glamour Boys.

The veteran defender put in a solid shift on Sunday afternoon for Sekhukhune United as they completed a historic league double over the mighty Amakhosi.

Days before the clash, Cardoso came under fire for comments he made regarding Arthur Zwane’s youthful side.

What Kaizer Chiefs boss said to Cardoso?

“With all due respect, you have never heard Dr Motaung coming to radio addressing comments disgruntled former players made but with Cardoso, he spent 7 years at the club as a senior player and won nothing,” the Kaizer Chiefs senior executive told Radio2000 as quoted by IdiskiTimes.

“It was a period where were least successful. It baffles me why he [Daniel Cardoso] would utter the word titles.

“It’s more of a slap in the face for our fans because he played almost all the games when he was here. It [Cardoso’s comments] was tone-deaf but we wish him all the best at his club.”

Daniel Cardoso makes shock Amakhosi prediction

Former Amakhosi defender Daniel Cardoso believes the club will buckle under pressure against Orlando Pirates in their upcoming Nedbank Cup semi-final clash.

According to the ex Glamour Boy, Arthur Zwane’s youthful Kaizer Chiefs side don’t have enough character to win ‘trophies’.

“I don’t want to open up a can of worms, but youngsters are not going to win you titles and trophies,” Daniel Cardoso said as quoted by SABC SPORT.

“They are in a rebuilding phase, as you can see – [Samkelo] Zwane, [Mduduzi] Shabalala, [Happy] Mashiane, [Siyabonga] Ngezana, they got rid of all the experienced players.”
