And that’s because talisman Keagan Dolly has been ruled out of action for six to eight weeks with injury, interim coach Arthur Zwane confirmed.

Zwane said Dolly suffered a calf injury as the team was preparing for Sekhukhune United last week, and the medical team ruled him out for the season.

Dolly has carried Chiefs this season alongside Khama Billiat as they have contributed immensely in terms of goals and assists.

With eight goals and five assists to his name, Dolly would have been key against Swallows – especially at this point when Chiefs need to win at all costs.

Chiefs need to beat Swallows by two clear goals and hope Cape Town City lose to Stellenbosch in the Cape Derby on the same day to ‘temporarily’ occupy that second spot.

It would be temporary because Royal AM, who are on 46 points, still have a game in hand which they will play against Orlando Pirates on 29 May.
