Some Kaizer Chiefs exits were expected but maybe not Lebogang Manyama. Anyways, he left Amakhosi alongside 11 other teammates.

It now looks like the Tembisa-born player, who grew up in Alexandra, is returning to Cape Town City.

KAIZER CHIEFS RELEASE MANYAMA

As The South African reported in June, Amakhosi surprised thousands of his fans by announcing that the 31-year-old’s contract will not be extended.

MANYAMA ARRIVES IN CAPE TOWN

Meanwhile, the latest reports say Manyama has arrived at the exciting Mother City club Cape Town City with a plan to sign. Or is it for an assessment?

“This publication can now confirm that the ex-Ajax Cape Town and SuperSport United star reported for training on Wednesday morning,” FARPost reported.

“However, Manyama will have to go through rehab before he can join Eric Tinkler’s charges. He is currently nursing an injury after a tear on the meniscus.

“The 31-year-old was operated on recently and is set to be out for at least four weeks.”

Meanwhile, Eric Tinkler’s team will kick off the new season against the champions Mamelodi Sundowns in Cape Town on Friday 5 August at 19:30.
