It became clear that most Kaizer Chiefs fans loved Kearyn Baccus despite his limited game time since joining Amakhosi from Australia’s Melbourne City in 2019.

The central midfielder had the elegant touch that most local fans delight over, but sadly a central midfielder needs a lot more than beautiful technique.

The player’s business representative, Mike Makaab, has now confirmed it is the end of the road at Chiefs for the 30-year-old Durbanite.

KAIZER CHIEFS MIDFIELDER IS MOVING ON

The news was revealed by a disappointed Makaab via local media on Saturday morning.

“Kearyn Baccus is definitely not staying at Chiefs. We will look at options for him locally, but he also has opportunities outside of South Africa,” Makaab told SABC SportsMazola Molefe.

RETURN TO AUSTRALIA ON THE CARDS

The outspoken agent added to suggest Baccus may return to Australia before admitting the failed move to the Soweto giants is not easy to accept.

“It could be that he goes back to Australia, we only work with Kearyn in South Africa – he has an agent outside of the country.

“But we have a good relationship and we’ve always been honest and transparent with each other and I am just disappointed that it hasn’t worked out at Chiefs to be honest,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, the Glamour Boys will finish the season on Saturday against Swallows FC at the FNB Stadium at 15:00.

With Cole Alexander suspended, as well as Nkosingiphile Ngcobo and Sabelo Radebe ill, Baccus is almost certain to start what will be his final game in black & gold.
