Kaizer Chiefs’ Parker has had a preview and watched a few games of AFCON 2021. The former Bafana Bafana striker has now seen enough to offer his possible champions come the first weekend of February.

KAIZER CHIEFS’ PARKER GOES FOR EGYPT AND NIGERIA

The veteran striker known as ‘Die Hond’ – feels that the continent should look out for two giants that share a combined 11 titles between them: Egypt and Nigeria.

Egypt are the greatest nation in Africa with an unbelievable seven titles, while Nigeria have four AFCON trophies in their cabinet in Lagos.

So who does Kaizer Chiefs’ Parker believe will add another title in 2021?

“We need to look at the North African and West African teams, especially Egypt and Nigeria,” said Parker via Amakhosi’s media.

“Nigeria have players who play in strong leagues in Europe and that’s a big plus for them. It will boil down to team chemistry because some of the players are not used to playing as a team. Egypt are always favourites because they have the right quality.

“The golden generation they have needs to lift the trophy. I believe they will use the experience to win it,” Kaizer Chiefs’ Parker added.

ANOTHER SPECIAL REASON TO BACK NIGERIA

The 35-year-old from Gauteng’s Boksburg concluded to reveal that he also has a soft spot for Nigeria because of his club teammate Daniel Akpeyi.

“I personally support my teammate, Daniel Akpeyi,” he added.

“I think it’s great for Daniel to add this tournament to his profile. Him being there represents not only Nigeria, but us as Kaizer Chiefs.”

Meanwhile, Parker will be back in an Amakhosi shirt when Stuart Baxter’s side take on Cape Town City on 15 February in the Western Cape.
