Kaizer Chiefs-bound Sibusiso Mabiliso bids farewell to AmaZulu

Sibusiso Mabiliso has bid farewell to AmaZulu as he prepares to embark on a football journey with Kaizer Chiefs ahead of next season.

Sibusiso Mabiliso has bid farewell to AmaZulu as he prepares to embark on a football journey with Kaizer Chiefs ahead of next season.

Mabiliso is tipped to join Chiefs, and his farewell to AmaZulu has all but confirmed the media reports that he’s already put pen to paper with the Soweto giants.

Mabiliso, who spent three years at AmaZulu, thanked the club and everyone associated with it, including the Benni McCarthy-led technical team.

Today I am saying goodbye to everyone at @amazulu_fc after my three-and-half year stay with the club.

Thank you for our time together, we have created great memories and I felt part of the family.

To the President, Mr Zungu and all the staff, I’m humbled and grateful to have been given the opportunity to play for this amazing club.

You taught me so much, but also went beyond that to show your love and care. I’m so grateful for all your efforts. You’ve influenced my life for the better.

Thank you to my family, friends, teammates, staff and all the wonderful supporters that showed me a lot of love.

I’m confident you will all continue to go on and achieve great things. I wish you the best in the future going forward. Much love and gratitude. I’m looking forward to what’s next in my career and what new challenge I’ll face.

Mabiliso, who plays as a left-back, is set to join the new project at Chiefs with a number of players in the current squad expected to be released.

Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya is one player the club is reported to be in the process of releasing after struggling to get game time this past season.

Mabiliso’s arrival at Naturena also casts doubts over the future of Sfiso Hlanti, especially now that Gavin Hunt has left Chiefs.

Hunt wanted Hlanti to join him at Chiefs so much so that he even invited him to train with the club before being allowed to join Swallows FC.

As things stand, it is unclear as to whether or not Hlanti had already put pen to paper with Chiefs when he left for Swallows just like Phathutshedzo Nange.
