It’s the teams that follow in the odds that may surprise some.

Orlando Pirates, who finished third last season, are on offer at 5/1 to be crowned champions for the first time since the 2011/12 season.

Red-hot SuperSport United are next best at 7/1 followed by surprise packages at this stage, Stellenbosch FC (10/1).

Kaizer Chiefs follow at 14/1 and are already considered rank outsiders for the title, a title they last won in the 2014/15 season.

The Glamour Boys have slipped in the odds in recent weeks having started the season as joint-second favourites alongside their fellow Soweto giants, Orlando Pirates.
