Kaizer Chiefs | Baxter preaches patience, reiterates Amakhosi will be difficult to beat

Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter has made a plea to the supporters to be patient and also understand the journey the team is embarking on.

Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter has made a plea to the supporters to be patient and also understand the journey the team is embarking on.

Chiefs disappointed millions of their fans yet again this past weekend as they needed a late dubious penalty to walk away with a 1-1 draw against AmaZulu.

And Baxter feels there is about 10 percent more of the work that needs to be done by Chiefs for positive results to start flowing.

“I hope the supporters understand the journey we are on and I hope they stick with us because I think enough is happening to encourage us and believe that this could be very good if we can shift that 10 percent,” Baxtet told the Amakhosi media team.

Chiefs are currently 12th on the log with just six points from six games, and they are 10 points behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.

However, Baxter isn’t too bothered by that as he believes Chiefs will catch up and move up the ladder very soon.

Baxter further reiterated that Chiefs will be a difficult team to beat in the league once the players understand and execute his philosophy.

“It is very early to be looking at the table. The teams at the top, we will play all of them again. So, if we can take points from them we close that gap,” he said.

“I think it is important for us, the supporters, staff and players to put together a team that has an identity in the way of playing. If we can get that 10 percent, I tell you we will be difficult to beat,” added Baxter.
