Kaizer Chiefs: Arthur Zwane names two surprise replacements

Arthur Zwane and Kaizer Chiefs have lined up two surprising replacements for Keagan Dolly – who has just been ruled out for the remainder of the season.

Dolly has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.

Meaning, Zwane must select a new captain and a new attacker. He has already lined up two potential replacements for Dolly with both men coming as a surprise.

ZWANE NAMES SURPRISE REPLACEMENTS FOR CHIEFS’ DOLLY

So, Zwane has two exciting replacements in mind – Happy Mashiane and Kgaogelo Sekgota.

Zwane must also select a new captain if Itumeleng Khune is going to be benched again.

Sekgota is the more likely of the two players to replace Dolly but Zwane did mention Mashiane too.

“We are going to try and tweak the team here and there to get the right balance. It’s going to be between Happy (Mashiane) and (Kgaogelo) Sekgota (to replace Dolly). We are going to see who is going to be mentally and physically ready for this game. The fact that we have been playing back to back also took a lot from the players, so we will try and manage some of them, because we don’t want to risk injuries,” the source confirmed on iDiskiTimes.

This comes as a surprise given that Mashiane has hardly featured over the last year.

Furthermore, Sekgota has been an unused substitute in six of the last eight outings. Therefore, many were expecting Caleb-Bonfils Bimenyimana or Ashley Du Preez or Mduduzi Shabalala to slot in.

AMAKHOSI TO USE MORE DEFENSIVE FORMATION?

In addition, Mashiane is not an attacking player.

With Zwane listing him as a potential replacement, we could see Amakhosi implement a more defensive formation. Amakhosi fans will hope this is not the case given the inconsistency of Amakhosi’s attack this season.

Hopefully, Sekgota is selected as goals win games and Amakhosi have to win their remaining matches to have a slim hope of playing CAF football next season.
