Amakhosi fans voted for their favourite players to start in the Carling Black Label Cup semi-final against Orlando Pirates.

However, no right-back was elected based on fans votes. Therefore, one centre-back may have to play out of position or does Zwane have an ace up his sleeve?

Amakhosi fans voted for Erick Mathoho, Njabulo Ngcobo, Edmilson Dove and S’fiso Hlanti in defense.

However, none of these men are right-backs, causing quite the dilemma for Zwane and Amakhosi.

Therefore, Zwane will have to get creative given that he has to use the players voted for.

However, their is one potential trick up his sleeve and his name is Njabulo Blom. The talented player was voted in as a defensive midfielder, however, he could be moved to right back.

Here’s what Zwane had to say about this selection dilemma:

“It comes in the element of improvisation when it comes to that because we’re going to have see as to how we’re going to balance the team,” Zwane stated on iDiskiTimes.

“The good thing as coaches, the reason we attended coaching courses is for that – that ability to see things and come up with a plan,” Zwane said.

“Yes, that might be another option for us but we’ll look how we can balance the squad to make sure that we have the team to go out there and compete,” he added.

Zwane is remaining positive and open-minded – just the sort of characteristics needed by a coach in situations like these. Amakhosi face Orlando Pirates on Saturday, 12 November 2022 in round two of the Soweto derby.
