AS IT HAPPENED | KAIZER CHIEFS VS AMAZULU

Arthur Zwane kept faith in Itumeleng Khune who started in goal and captained Amakhosi once again while Keagan Dolly started on the bench.

For Usuthu, George Maluleka started in the middle of the park against his former club while Dumisani Zuma was introduced late in the game.

The first half was entertaining with both teams throwing punches at each other although there were no goals.

The biggest chance of the game fell for Chiefs before the break as they were awarded a penalty following a good footwork by Kgaogelo Sekgota.

However, Dillan Solomons failed to convert as he drilled the spot-kick wide of Veli Mothwa’s goal, much to the disappointment of the Chiefs fans.

The second half was also not short of entertainment with Chiefs continuing to play enterprising football.

George Matlou often pulled all the right strings with some brilliant forward passes alongside Yusuf Maart.

Nonetheless, the likes of Abubakar Mobara and Thembela Sikhakhane did well to contain Chiefs and ensure that AmaZulu keep a clean sheet.
