Sekhukhune United striker Justin Shonga says he is fired-up for the visit of his former side Orlando Pirates when the sides meet at Ellis Park in a DStv Premiership clash on Wednesday, 6 April.

Kick-off is at 17:30.

Shonga, 25, left Orlando Pirates in 2020 after dropping down the pecking order, but heads into the match full of confidence after his wonder strike in the 1-1 draw against Stellenbosch FC last weekend.

The Zambian admits it would be a great feeling to find the back of the net against the Buccaneers.

“It’s a good thing for me. It motivates me to play against my former team,” Shonga told the club media department.

“There is nothing that I have to prove. I will just play according to the instructions from the coach and help the team do better in the match.

“I would want to get a win against my former team and talking on behalf of my team-mates, everybody is motivated.”

Orlando Pirates are currently fifth in the standings with 35 points after 23 matches.

Sekhukhune United find themselves in ninth spot with 30 points after the same number of games.
