The 51-year-old’s tenure at the Soweto giants remains uncertain after a number of Buccaneers supporters demanded he leave the club and went as far as to plan a march.

Plans for that march were subsequently called off.

Josef Zinnbauer’s current contract is set to conclude at the end of the 2021/22 season in June next year.

At one point of the recent DStv Premiership season it looked as though Orlando Pirates would struggle for a top 5 finish, but credit where it’s due they eventually wound up in third place and booked a CAF Confederation Cup spot next season.

In addtion, Zinnbauer led the club to their first piece of silverware in six seasons when they landed the MTN8 title.

According to the Kickoff website, a source close to the club confirmed that Josef Zinnbauer is set to meet with management to present his technical report for the 2020/21 season.

“Zinnbauer is set to meet with the management this week before being allowed to go home to Germany for a holiday,” said the source.

“But there is nothing sinister. It’s a normal procedure at the end of the season for the coach to submit his technical report. Obviously, his future will also be discussed.”
