It’s no secret that striker Ndumiso Mabena is training with Orlando Pirates. However, are they planning to sign him?

The club’s head coach Jose Riveiro has addressed the matter.

The 35-year-old Mabena recently parted ways with Royal AM before the start of the season and was thereafter linked with multiple clubs in the Premier Soccer League, including the Buccaneers.

Mabena previously played for the Sea Robbers from 2009 to 2014 before he left to join Platinum Stars.

The striker has been training with Riveiro’s charges since last week, but hasn’t signed on the dotted line as yet.

The Spanish coach says it’s up to management to decide whether to add Mabena to the squad.

JOSE RIVEIRO ON MABENA’S FUTURE AT PIRATES

 “About Mabena, he is training with us. He [has] been training with us for the last six to seven training [sessions],” Riveiro told the media.


“Let’s see what happens in the future and what management decides about Mabena’s future in the team.”
