He has been a missing link in Riveiro’s team which hasn’t been sharp enough in the final third.

The Spanish tactician is hopeful that Lorch will make a return soon.

RIVEIRO ON LORCH’S INJURY

“Well, he hasn’t been available for the last one and a half months, I think, after the SuperSport United game,” he said after Richards Bay clash as quoted by Soccer Laduma.

“I hope he’s going to make it soon. We spoke about what happened in that game already.”

In other news, Riveiro believes that his side will turn things around after failing to score a single goal in their last three games.

Their woes in front of goal started when they drew 0-0 with Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN8 semi-final first-leg, then lost 2-0 to Sekhukhune United before they played a goalless draw with Richards Bay FC in the DStv Premiership.

However, the Spanish tactician is confident that they will soon start achieving the desired results.

RIVEIRO ON PIRATES’ LACK OF GOALS

“I am a super optimistic person. And I am sure that the breakdown is coming very soon. The moment we get the confidence and determination to start games like we did today, in a consistent way, we are going to be at the top, if not close,” said Riveiro after the Richards Bay FC clash as quoted by Phakaaathi.

“Like I said, it’s a tough competition. You can see how difficult it is to win one game in the league or score one goal. Nobody is getting easy wins. We are still in the first part of the competition and October is going to be long for everyone in the league as well,” added the Pirates mentor.

The 47-year-old says all other departments of his team are doing well.

“We are still having problems capitalising in our offensive phase in terms of goals. And that’s what keeps us far from being more consistent as a team. But that we are a very competitive team in every phase of the game, pin the opponent in their box, defend well and in transitions, that makes me positive,” he added.
